Previously, Takealytics captures the delivery fee without setting a specific location. However, after further analysis and feedback, we've determined that the value shown on the Deliveroo website (when no location is set) seems to function as a placeholder rather than an average or a fee linked to a specific distance.

To address this, we have decided to update our methodology, which we implemented at the end of August 2024. The new approach set the location to the restaurant’s address, allowing us to capture the delivery fee and minimum order value for the closest delivery area. This update will reflect the minimum delivery fee offered by any restaurant and ensure consistency across both Deliveroo and Just Eat.

While the ideal scenario would involve scraping the same venue from multiple locations to understand how delivery fees vary based on distance, doing so would significantly increase the number of data points, costs, and the risk of being blocked. Therefore, we will continue to capture one location as standard (the minimum delivery fee).

However, we can incorporate more detailed radius-based analysis on delivery fees and minimum order values on request.
