Detailing hints and tips to get the best out of Takealytics Alerts

Below we have detailed some things to think about when setting up any email alerts.

Timing of your Alert

We scrape each venue at 10 past and 20 to the hour, this is because whilst restaurants are scheduled to open on the hour they are often a bit late. The alert is generated based on the last scraped data so we would recommend setting the time of your alert 30 minutes after it opens. This will reduce the noise in the alert and only show those genuinely not open.

Alerts on Opening Hours

The opening hours for a venue are collected after a venue has opened (because Deliveroo only showing the closing time for a venue after it has opened). As such we would recommend scheduling your opening hour alerts for a time after your venues have opened to see the most up to date hours information.

Saving your alert

Once you have defined the metrics in your alert the page is showing you a preview, this won't actually be scheduled until you fill in the Schedule tab and Save your report.

Links in the Alert

  • Click the paperclip link in your alert to be taken directly to the restaurant page on the aggregator.

  • Click the dashboard icon to see the latest data in the Takealytics Dashboard.

  • Click on the summary box in the email to be taken directly to the alerts related to that summary.

See the Latest Data

You may only pickup your email occasionally throughout the day - as such the data in your email alert will likely be out of date. To get the latest view of the alert data click "Click here to view the report" shown at the top of your alert. This will show you the latest view of the alert within the Takealytics UI.

This can be run at any time to get the latest view on your estate.

Share Alerts with others

Alerts can be shared with other people inside and outside of your business.

To add another Takealytics user go to the Schedule tab and find the user in the Other Users box. Alternatively if they are not a Takealytics user you can add their email address in the Additional emails box.

Please note if you edit your alert, their alert will also be amended.

If you untick "Send alert to me" it will only send the alert to the people you have shared it with.
