Identifying Competitors New Listings

In addition to tracking your estates own performance takealytics provides detail on competitor activity. takealytics highlights where competitors have opened new locations or expanded their platform coverage.

How to Run the Report

1) Select the Grid Builder analysis and type in the name of a competitor restaurant e.g. Burger King.

2) Click on Filters, select the Grid Builder tab and add the First Discovered field.

Sort the field headers to see venues launched most recently.

Alternatively using the Date filter you can choose to show venues launched after a set date.

Please note takealytics begun tracking data in August 2020 so this will be the earliest date shown and will not represent when the venue was launched.

These Burger King venues have all been launched in 2021.

By running the analysis on the post code of one of those venues it is possible to identify if this is related to a platform coverage change.

Below is the report run on the Burger King Telford post code and it can be seen that all the venues in that area were first seen in 2021 implying there has been an expansion of Deliveroo coverage in that area.

If your restaurant also operates in the nearby area we would advise checking if that too can expand coverage on the platform.
