How do you collect Food Type Tags?

The Food Type Tags shown in Takealytics are normalised across each platform.

The Food Type tags are detailed on each of the platforms. These influence the category a venue is shown on.

Having the correct tags is critical in consumers finding your venue. Food Types vary across platforms, as such Takealytics creates a normalised list so that when filtering in the platform you will see matching terms across the platforms.

We take each of the Food Tags from each platform and normalise them into one list across all platforms. The table below shows the scraped food type, the platform it was scraped from and the normalised value shown in Takealytics.

So for example Off-Licences and Alcohol venues will be shown under "Alcohol" in Takealytics.

When reviewing the data across a restaurants estate in Grid Builder it's easy to identify missing food tags for specific venues. See example below.

By using the Filters you can quickly identify if any venues are missing food tags by selecting "does not include" and selecting a specific food tag. In the example below these two venues are missing the tag "American".
