Creating a custom group of venues

A user can create a group of venues which can be used in each of your reports.

This could be for creating:

  • A quick access list of your locations - If you operate a franchise or if simply searching for your restaurant/supermarket also returns competitors.

  • A specific list of competitor venues nearby to your location.

  • A group of newly listed venues.

  • A group of brands.

  • A group with all venues within a specific area.

To create a Group

  • Click the Groups button at the top of the analysis page and select "New Group"

  • Give your Group a Name

You can now choose between Manual, Keyword, Brands, Postcodes or Location.

Brand Groups

This is for creating groups of multiple Brands. If new venues are launched across the estate they will automatically be added to the Brand and therefore also the venue group. We would recommend using this method to create a Brand group rather than adding Brand names as Keywords.

  • Click Brands

  • Select the required Brands from the drop down list of Brands

  • Choose the platforms you would like included.

  • Click Save - The group will then be built and with a few minutes you can open the group with all the dynamic venues.

Keyword Venue Groups

This is groups created from the specific text used in the name of a venue.

If new venues are launched they will automatically be added to the venue group.

  • Click Keywords

  • You will see two boxes one to detail the text you would like included in your group and another box to show text you don't want included.

  • You can add multiple terms. So for example you may choose to include "Pho" but exclude "Delicious Pho". This would show all other restaurants using Pho in their name excluding Delicious Pho.

  • Enclose in β€œβ€ to match an exact term. Add a + at the front to match venues where the term is at the start of the venue name.

  • Choose the platforms you would like included.

  • Click Save - The group will then be built and with a few minutes you can open the group with all the dynamic venues.

Postcode and Location

  • Click Postcode or Location

  • For Postcode, enter a primary or full postcode to add venues. Multiple primary postcodes can be included in the group. New venues in the with that postcode will be automatically included.

  • For Location, enter a postcode or place name, select a radius, and all venues within that radius will be included in the group. Note that this will be based on the centre of the postcode area and the radius from that point.

  • Choose the platforms you would like included.

  • Click Save - The group will then be built and with a few minutes you can open the group with all the dynamic venues.

Manually Adding Venues to your Group

This details how to add individual venues to your group - note if new venues are launched this will not add these venues to the group.

  • Select Manual

  • Click in the search box on the left and type in the Restaurant/Supermarkets that you would like to include in your group.

  • A venue for each platform will be shown. Click to add the venues to your group.

  • Please note you can also enter a specific venue ID should you have created a list of specific venues to add to your group from an export.

Importing Venues

You can also import a list of venues into a group.

To do this choose Manual.

Click the down arrow in bottom corner to download the template. In the template populate the specific list of venues you would like to see in the report. This is a list of the venue IDs. Note the Venue IDs are shown in the Grid Builder exports.

Click the up arrow to import the list. The venue group will then be built from this group.

Accessing a Group

To access a group in your analysis click on the Search box - all created groups will be shown at the bottom of the list.

You can go back in and edit an existing Group should you with to add additional venues at any time by clicking the Groups button.

Sharing a Group

A Venue Group can be shared with other users by clicking the Shared with All Users tick box. Other users within your company will then see that venue group in their search.
